Work Experience:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Prior to joining Edward Jones, Val played professional football in the Canadian Football League for 14 seasons. His career saw him play in Hamilton, Edmonton, Ottawa (his hometown), Winnipeg and Regina.                                                                                                                                                                                                               As of 2002, Val spent his off-seasons as an occasional teacher with the Ottawa Carleton Catholic School Board.

Family:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Val and his wife Heidi were both born in Ottawa. Val grew up in the Westboro area of Ottawa and Heidi grew up in Kemptville. For the past 7 years they have been residents of Barrhaven where they are joined by their daughter Kallie and their two sons Ashton and Declan.

Community:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Recently appointed as one of the newest members to sit on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Canada (BIAC). BIAC is a national charitable organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for all Canadians affected by acquired brain injury and and promoting its prevention.
